CBD for Anxiety & PTSD

Studies have shown that CBD (Cannabidiol) reduces anxiety disorders especially of panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorders.

CBD from the hemp plant is an effective ‘natural’ or ‘holistic’ option for people with anxiety as it does not have any euphoric effect or secondary side effects. CBD significantly reduces anxiety and discomfort which allows for the improvement of those experiencing anxiety related issues including depression, distress, fear, grief, headaches, heart disorders, jitters, nervousness, night terrors, pain, panic attacks, phobias, PTSD, restlessness, sorrow, stomachache, stress and tension.

How It Works
Clinical trials show CBD (cannabidiol) changes the blood flow in the brain regions that are linked to anxiety by shifting the way the brain responds to anxiety. The most effective way to treat anxiety is to target the serotonin receptor (5-HT1A), a neurotransmitter that is the main contributor to happiness and a person’ feeling of well-being. The serotonin receptor is also responsible for the regulation of mood, appetite and sleep. CBD boosts the serotonin signals allowing for an increased availability resulting in less anxiety.

CBD vs. Antidepressants
Prescription drugs and pharmaceuticals can be dangerous and toxic to the body and mind. Antidepressants can cause negative side effects such as nausea, dry mouth, diarrhea, fatigue and reduced sexual desires. CBD is an alternative therapy that increases the transmission of the serotonin receptor (5-HT1A) to create an increased serotonin availability. It is a natural component that does not contain side effects.

Dosing
The recommended amount of CBD is 20mg per day, however after inflammation is reduced (7-14 days), the dosage can be reduced to 10mg per day. For more serious cases, physicians are recommending 30mg-40mg per day. Each person needs to control the dosing according to their level of anxiety, pain and discomfort.

Take one capsule or oil dropper in the am before breakfast for best absorption and one in the evening. CBD may be taken with or without food and can be mixed with prescriptions or other nutritional supplements. Do not take while pregnant or breast-feeding. Share the information with your physician.
